FAQs
- What types of wood are used in your cutting boards?
- American hardwoods: Black Walnut, Hard Maple and Hickory. Exotic wood species: refer to specific product descriptions
- How do I care for and maintain my cutting board?
- This is an important consideration as you lovingly maintain these beautiful boards. Please see our care section. Our own Bee’s Board Butter is the perfect, easy-to-apply product for long-term maintenance.
- Can I order a custom cutting board or engraving?
- Yes! We certainly can make custom boards. The turnaround time and price will depend on a variety of factors such as wood species selected, time of year and number of boards desired. If there is existing art, it will require proper formatting.
- Are your cutting boards food-safe?
- Yes! All materials in the construction of the boards are food safe.
- What’s the difference between edge grain and end grain boards?
- This description refers to the segment of the wood displayed on the surface of your board. Please see the product descriptions and especially our video that details the difference.
- How long does it take to receive my order?
- The product page will be updated to reflect product availability. If sold out, it means we are busy creating more of this type. If available, it will ship immediately. Shipping time is usually 3-7 days.
- Can your boards be used for both cutting and serving?
- Definitely! These are durable wood species that will wear well if properly maintained. If used as cutting boards, the surface will, of course, be etched by knives. This does not affect the longevity of the board. Even this knife-scarring can be refurbished to virtually new condition. Please see our video regarding board muse and maintenance. Many people choose to use these exclusively as charcuterie boards. This is certainly understandable, they are gorgeous.
- Do you offer bulk orders?
- Yes! An important aspect of our mission is to partner with businesses to offer these as special gifts for special customers. For large orders we will need adequate lead time. Contact us for details. One of our friendly folks will be available to discuss options!
- How often should I oil my cutting board?
- Please see care instructions above. In general, we suggest using our Bee’s Board Butter, at least, after every third washing. If you are storing the boards for extended time periods, use before storage.
- Do you offer gift cards?
- Yes! Please see our digital gift cards here.
